Gloria Kitchen began fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis research after losing her brother Thomas at the age of 31 to the disease in 1996. In 2010, Gloria, who also battled CF lost her battle with the disease. Because the Gloria and Thomas Kitchen Memorial Foundation has no offices, no employees, and is run entirely by family and friends, overhead is kept extremely low. We want every dollar we raise to fund research to fight Cystic Fibrosis!
The purpose of our foundation is to receive and administer funds for the benefit of and in aid of scientific research for Cystic Fibrosis and related diseases. In addition, this foundation aims to preserve the memory of Gloria Kitchen and Thomas Kitchen and to all those who have lost their fight with Cystic Fibrosis. This foundation operates exclusively for the charitable and educational purposes.
Between 1996-2010, Gloria Kitchen personally raised well over $350,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In 2010, she began forming her own foundation, renamed the Gloria and Thomas Kitchen Memorial Foundation shortly after her death. Since 2010, the foundation has donated over $300,000 directly to a Cystic Fibrosis Research Center.
